Dr. Sree's Journey

The first step

Upon completing my SSLC in the early 70s, I was under the impression that a good education equates to a good life. It was this belief that led me to continue with my education with Pre-degree 2nd group, which was much sought after at the time.

Two years after that decision and three months before the university was set to start, my father, who was serving in the army at the time, came home for his vacation and asked me what my new goal was upon achieving my pre-degree. This question made me think…I was not interested in achieving a conventional degree. I then decided to study hard and sincerely for 3 months to obtain a medical seat, and here I am.

My initial experience while pursuing my medical degree

The first year of my studies at Alleppey Medical College were not particularly interesting as I found the subjects to be dull and there was a lot to study at the time. I took an interest in sports and I was also a member of all the sports teams. But ultimately, I pushed on as I had no intention of failing in any of my exams and this eventually led me to become a doctor.

A surgical choice

Among the medical subjects, the surgical specialties always stimulated me as I found the subject to be more exciting and adventurous. To that end, I joined as a Senior House Surgeon at Trivandrum Medical College in the departments of General Surgery, Cardio-thoracic, and Neurosurgery. My professors, Dr. Elizabeth, Dr. Menon and Dr. Sambasivan had a great influence over me and served as my mentors on my path to becoming an ENT Specialist.

Some of the challenges I faced while trying to become a doctor

Through this speciality, I underwent advanced training in Head and Neck surgery, Micro ear surgery, Nasal endoscopic sinus surgery, and oto-neuro surgery from stalwarts like Prof. Ingle, Prof. Kirtane, Dr. Morwani, and Dr. Sultan Pradhan. It was after an interaction with Prof. Dr. Michle Papperella of USA that I decided to go back to the basics of medicine. This created a radical shift in my approach to medical & healthcare. This was how I entered the infinite field of Cellular Nutritional & Environmental medicine as a speciality.

A few years later, I was heading one of the premium medical institution (NSS Medical Mission, Pandalam) of Kerala for over 15 years when I took the decision of starting a centre for Preventive Health care.

The experience

With over 40 years medical experience in India and almost 5 years in UK and middle east, the remainder of my workmanship was practiced in India, particularly in Pushpagiri hospital, Thiruvalla, Medical Mission Hospital, Parumala and then in NSS Medical Mission Pandalam, a 500 bedded multi-specialty hospital as Senior Consultant in ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon & Medical Superintendent for 18 years till 2002. I continued ENT practice as visiting consultant in West side hospital, Kochi and Changanacherry NSS Medical Mission till 2016.

New beginnings

A few years later, I learnt clinical biochemistry, followed by Nutritional and Environmental Pollution and finally did my fellowship from an Australian college that trained doctors in Nutritional Medicine and obtained FACNEM in [year].

Wellness Solutions

My close friends and relative supported me when I told them about my passion to bring about an institution that catered towards Wellness. Finally, in 2002, Wellness Solutions was born and was inaugurated by the then Honorary Health Minister of Kerala.

My approach to wellness
